MOSCOW, Oct 9 (Bernama-Sputnik) — The Russian Finance Ministry announced on Wednesday the launch of the BRICS+ diamond dialogue platform with the participation of diamond-producing countries in Africa, reported Sputnik.
“Within the framework of the Russian Federation’s presidency of the BRICS, on Oct 9 in Moscow in a hybrid format, on the sidelines of the meeting of finance ministers and central bank governors of the BRICS countries, the inaugural meeting of the informal dialogue platform on cooperation in the diamond industry was held. The meeting was held following the agreements reached at the events of the Russian BRICS presidency, as well as thanks to the support of the initiative from the Association of African Diamond Producing Countries (ADPA),” the ministry said in a statement.
The platform will help strengthen ties between participants and create new forms of cooperation, the ministry said.
“The launch of the BRICS+ diamond dialogue platform with the participation of African diamond-producing countries will help strengthen trade and business ties between our countries, create new forms of cooperation and develop a common position for representatives of all segments of the diamond pipeline from mining to retail in the common interests of stable development of the industry,” the ministry said.
