Hunter LoCascio named director of finance for Frenship ISD
WOLFFORTH — Hunter LoCascio has been selected as the new director of finance for the Frenship Independent School District, the district announced Thursday.
With a background in the financial services industry, LoCascio has served as the Frenship ISD accounting and finance coordinator since 2020. As the new director, LoCascio will be responsible for supervising and managing the daily operation of all financial and business activities for the district, including payroll, local and state grants, financial system administration, travel, insurance and risk management.
“I am humbled and incredibly grateful to be selected as Frenship ISD’s new sdirector of finance. My four years with Frenship have been such a blessing and I am proud to be part of this family,” LoCascio said in a news release. “These are exciting times at Frenship, and in my new role I look forward to addressing the challenges and opportunities that a fast-growing school district faces. My goal is to be a good steward of our resources to benefit the thousands of students and staff that call Frenship home.”
LoCascio is currently a member of the Texas Association of School Business Officials (TASBO), and serves as the organization’s South Plains Chapter treasurer. During his time at Frenship, he completed the TASBO certification to become a Certified Texas School Business Official, a distinction that is held in high regards within the school finance industry, the district said.

“He has been an invaluable member of our team for four years, consistently contributing to Frenship ISD with his dedication and expertise,” said FISD Chief Financial Officer Farley Reeves. “His accomplishments include obtaining his CTSBO TASBO certification and completing the requirements for becoming a certified public accountant, which have significantly impacted our success. We are confident that he will excel in his new role and continue to elevate our team.”
LoCascio holds a Master of Science in accounting from Texas Tech University and currently serves as a member of the Texas Tech Rawls College of Business Recent Alumni Board.
Wayland Baptist alum named Global Methodist CFO
PLAINVIEW — Robert Worthington began his new role as chief financial officer of the Global Methodist Church on Monday, according to a news release from the denomination.
Worthington, a Wayland Baptist University alum with deep ties to Plainview, joins Lubbockites Rev. Mike Schafer and Diane Burnett as members of the young denomination’s top leadership.
Worthington is a certified public accountant and attorney who most recently served as CFO of a large dermatology practice in northwest Arkansas. He is a native of Chile and first came to the United States as an exchange student in Plainview, where he began attending First Methodist Plainview with his host family.
Worthington stayed in Plainview and attended Wayland Baptist University, where he graduated summa cum laude with a business administration degree in 2008. He later graduated magna cum laude from Baylor Law School and is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity degree from Asbury Theological Seminary in Kentucky.

In addition, Worthington has previously taught accounting and law at Wayland and Dallas Baptist University.
“The opportunity to serve the GM Church brings all my skills and interests together,” Worthington said in the news release. “I am thrilled to devote myself to the amazing work God is doing in and through our dramatically growing church.”
Lubbock native featured on student worship album
PHEONIX — Grand Canyon University’s student worship arts ensemble recently released its annual studio album, this year featuring a song cowritten by Lubbock native Zach Goode, according to the university.
Good and classmate Colter Bonaroti wrote and recorded “My Heart Belongs to You,” an upbeat, soulful worship tune.
The album, titled “Canyon Worship 2024,” features 10 new songs, all of which were written and performed by GCU students and recorded in the university’s on-site recording studio.
“There were a lot of collaborations for this year’s songwriting efforts,” Eric Johnson, GCU’s recording studio manager, said in a news release. “Students came together to collaborate on these songs, which in turn has produced some of the best songs of the Canyon Worship album catalog yet.”
The album is available for streaming on Apple Music, Spotify and Amazon Music.
