With more than 7,500 properties across 126 countries, there’s likely a Hilton hotel or resort for nearly any destination your travel plans may take you.

If you’re a regular Hilton customer, you can get more value from your stays with a co-branded Hilton Honors travel credit card from American Express. These cards can also help you earn elite membership status, bonus points, and free night awards over the long term.

And for a limited time, they’re even more valuable for new cardholders — with welcome offers of 100,000 bonus points or more through April 17:

  • Hilton Honors American Express Card: Earn 70,000 Hilton Honors Bonus Points plus a Free Night Reward after spending $2,000 within the first 6 months (offer ends 7/31/2024)

  • Hilton Honors American Express Surpass® Card: earn 130,000 Hilton Honors Bonus Points plus a Free Night Reward after spending $3,000 in purchases in the first 6 months (offer ends 7/31/2024)

Here’s what to know about using Hilton Honors bonus points and whether a Hilton card is right for you.

At 100,000 and 155,000 bonus points, respectively, you can potentially earn multiple free nights on your next vacation with the Hilton Honors American Express and Hilton Honors Amex Surpass welcome offers.

Hilton uses dynamic pricing for points redemptions, meaning your points may be more or less valuable depending on when you travel and when you book.

If you’re booking a standard room, the cost of a free night can range anywhere from 5,000 to 95,000 points. Select properties or upgraded rooms may charge more points per night, and the cost generally will depend on the hotel, time of year, and other factors. You can also use a combination of points and dollars to cover the full cost of your trip.

Beyond hotel booking redemptions, there are a few more ways you can use Hilton Honors points — though you may not always get a great redemption rate.

These include experiences booked through Hilton, Lyft rides, Amazon purchases, car rentals, transfers to airline partners, and more.

Both the Hilton Honors Amex and Hilton Honors Surpass can help you save on future stays with the hotel chain.

To make the most of these cards, you don’t necessarily need to travel often — you just need to prefer staying with Hilton when you do travel. They each offer a range of everyday earnings and Hilton bonus rewards categories you can use to rack up rewards both at home and away.

However, the Hilton Honors Amex and Hilton Honors Surpass carry different annual fees and a range of added benefits. Before you apply, consider how much you travel and what types of savings you’re looking to get from your Hilton card.
