The Canadian dollar strengthened against the greenback on Monday, and the yield on benchmark government debt slipped.
The loonie was trading 0.3% higher at C$1.3834 to the greenback, or 72.29 U.S. cents, after trading in a range of 1.382 to 1.3946.
Canadian government 10-year bond yields fell 11 basis points to 2.998%. The yield on similar U.S. government benchmark debt fell to 3.6894%.
U.S. September crude futures fell $1.07 to $72.45 a barrel on Monday.
