Germany and its G7 partners are working intensively on a plan to provide military support to Ukraine through loans financed with proceeds from frozen Russian assets. This was stated by a spokesperson for the German Finance Ministry.
“We are working intensively on this financing instrument,” the spokesperson said. The German government intends to use the instrument to help finance its military support for Ukraine starting next year, a government spokesperson added, commenting on reports that appeared yesterday in the press about a cut in funds intended for Ukraine due to the austerity foreseen in the next budget law. Any suggestion that Germany is reducing the volume of its support for Ukraine is “incorrect”, the German government spokesperson added.
