BRASILIA, 8th August, 2024 (WAM) — Deforestation in Brazil’s Amazon rainforest increased in July for the first time in 15 months, Reuters reported, citing preliminary government data on Wednesday.
Approximately 666 sq km (257 sq miles) of rainforest were cleared last month, 33% higher than the 500 sq km for the same month last year.
