Muskogee, Okla (Ktul) – Several violations were found at a Bitcoin mining facility in Muskogee after a complaint was submitted.
A Muskogee resident filed the complaint with the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality (ODEQ), leading to an investigation on March 11.
The ODEQ found 10 violations at the Muskogee Bitcoin-Bifrost Substation and Miners facility.
According to the inspection, the facility had no measures to contain or stop sediment from leaving the site.
The vast majority of the area also did not have proper stabilization measures, like gravel or rip rap, and was mostly bare soil, according to the inspection.
There was also no signage posted with the permit/authorization number, contact information, or project description.
Seven of the violations were minor deficiencies, and three were significant.
The facility has until March 26, 15 days after the inspection to comply.
