MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) – A man lost thousands of dollars in a cryptocurrency scam reported this week in Manhattan, authorities said.
The incident was reported on Wednesday at an undisclosed location.
Riley County Police officials said a fraud-theft by deception report was filed in connection with the incident.
A man told Riley County police that he was contacted by an individual posing as an FBI agent.
The victim was instructed to deposit money into a cryptocurrency ATM.
The total loss in the incident was listed at $7,000.
