LSE Department of Finance #Finance

the LSE is an unusual place it’s a very interesting place it’s an exciting place to be everyone knows the LSC if you go around the world whether it’s um the continent in the US or Asia that those three letters LSE stand out the LSE is a place where students from all over

the world come and they are the best students from all over the world so it’s a very exciting place to meet smart engaged and diverse people you can go and stand at the lifts in the old building and as a government minister can be standing next to you the school is a hub of activity and

that’s because of its location and its historical reputation students get a lot of that by being here they’re there mixing with an incredible range of interesting people public figures no important decision makers and so on thank you all for our brand name is unbelievable we’ve

been at the forefront really of the growth of the top-end Finance teaching in Europe I would say over the last decade or so everyone here is very keen on learning everyone

wants to know more everyone wants to attend more lecture with more classes LSE has actually become maybe the most exciting place in Europe to study Finance in general its

competitive yes but at the same time everyone’s very keen on helping you so it’s overall very nice atmosphere to be the quality of teaching is excellent today we have a faculty of over 30 their making of basically the largest

style="font-weight: bold; color: #1a73e8; text-decoration: none;">Finance department in Europe I think the Faculty of LSE is fantastic their concise the articulate they make sure that we understand the material the support at LSE is you know second to none I think that the faculty is

really exceptional they’re leading researcher were in the field where the teaching so it really gives an extra dimension to all the class that we’re taking I did my undergrad in control or I wanted to go back to Europe and I thought London would be the best place to have a direct access

to employers but at the same time the reputation of Elysee would still allow me to finish up like everywhere potential where in one of the best locations to study Finance in

the world LSE have traditionally been a place where academics and practitioners meet being so close to the city allows us to bring these practitioners into the classroom they are typically quite high in they’re professionals that have experience in in important deals we have tons of

Hedge Funds and private Equity managers in Mayfair and they all are very interested in interacting with the LSE we’re trying to bridge with the city in a way that’s totally complementary to what we do once they see a professional talking in their

classroom they can see that the tools that they’ve learned in class and the k-style they’ve been working themselves on are not different from the real life situation that professionals face every day the contacts they have and organising practitioner lectures is really good it gives a

good balance between the practice and a theory we want students that have got initiative they’ve got the ability to engage with other students so they’re not afraid to express themselves because we want them to develop here not just academically we want them to develop as people we are

not looking only for students that have some background in Finance or economics we are also open to students with diverse backgrounds such as engineering physics for

Humanities and Social Sciences we’re looking for that little bit extra so we can produce somebody that’s going to become a really a great asset to the school because they’re going to achieve something when they leave the diversity of the student background helps a lot we have

these students coming from all over the world and we completely different backgrounds many students the United States lots of Europeans blow students from the Indian subcontinent and of course a large number and increasingly large number from the emerging China it’s been a fantastic

experience just from social point of view to get to know individuals who are like-minded and yet from all the corners of the world where from everywhere from all sorts of backgrounds from all sorts of countries and it’s it’s actually a very good mesh it works well together and

I’ve met people I think I hope of stay friends of their life she just loved being part of you know this community the best thing about it is because they’re all from different countries different universities and also from different courses you get a lot of good input into the class

work that you have to do in the end students are going to work in the professional life in similar jobs so keeping that network of related professionals it is very very valuable for them I hope to say that with them you know throughout my career and I think that’s going to go job

opportunities later are fantastic the employers understand the quality of Elysee and they also understand the high standards that we have we try to take them forward to the next stage of their life which is going out there and getting a job I think the program gives me really good balance of life

and academics I’ve got concrete knowledge in Finance and also I’ve made a lot of friends with different people from different parts of the world and really is a

good balance and also being here in London is really uh adventure that really gives you a memorable life

  1. Is anyone can tell me if someone’s PhD thesis disappeared from LSE’s library? Because there’s a LSE ‘PhD’ said LSE lost his thesis, he got 1.5 PhD from LSE in 1984, is that possible LSE gave 1.5 PhD to any student and you could not find his thesis in LSE Library ?
