what is going on people welcome back to another CashNews.co my name is as Hussein for anyone that’s new here and I started my career back in the day working in the world of none;">Finance and banking at Goldman Sachs since leaving I’ve built this YouTube channel and done a few other things but what I wanted to talk about to you today specifically is if you’re a student the world of Academia your universities your Schools they’re great
they teach you lots of things but they don’t teach you how to break into the industry or how to secure a job you know you’ve got careers advisers careers offices all of that that’s great but unless you’re at one of the Elite Target Unis like lsse Oxford Cambridge Harvard
Stanford all of those the culture at your uni is not going to be one where they prioritize securing internships spring weeks graduate schemes placements all of that they don’t prepare you how to create six CVS cover letters they don’t prepare you how to perform or outperform in
interviews on a technical basis on a competency basis behavioral situational judgment so on and so forth they don’t prepare you for online tests so many different things so essentially what I wanted to do a quick CashNews.co to let you know I’m going to be building the online university
for breaking into Finance and banking careers and it’s going to be completely free this is something I wanted to do for a long time create a platform I didn’t
know how to do it before but I think I’ve fallen onto the right method of doing it I wanted to create an online platform where any student from any Walk of Life from any country any University any your group can join and learn what they need to learn in order to increase or maximize their
chances of breaking into the industry so initially when I set out to do this I didn’t know how to do it so I started posting these CashNews.cos on YouTube One CashNews.co a week no expectations just sharing my insight on how I got into Goldman Sachs and uh secured offers in other roles in the
industry just post it and hopefully it will help one person if it did that my job was done that was great it grew but the thing with YouTube is I’ve got over 300 CashNews.cos and when you watch my CashNews.cos now if you’re a new subscriber or a new viewer you’re going to see my
most recent CashNews.cos and that’s not indicative of the 300 CashNews.cos I’ve done over the last 3 or 4 years those CashNews.cos will teach you how to break into the industry but you’re not really getting showed those or you’re not going to go down the rabbit hole and
watch all of them right so the platform I’ve created is called Finance FastTrack Academy it’s linked in the first link in the CashNews.co description below and it’s
basically an online community to help you there’s courses there’s going to be a lot more coming but there’s courses resources driven ambitious peers to network with I’m going to be posting lots of useful insightful documents resources files uh posts answering questions
there’s my YouTube CashNews.cos categorized so if you’re interested in sales and trading boom you’ve got a list of sales and trading CashNews.cos if you’re interested in interviews acing interviews how to prepare for them boom there’s going to be a list of interview
preparation CashNews.cos and so much more it’s completely free I launched it a few days ago there’s already 200 members in there if you want to be early one of the founding 1,000 members then hit the first link in the CashNews.co description below and join the community also let me know
in the comments to this CashNews.co what can I do in that Community to help you secure an offer in the world of banking and Finance cuz essentially that’s what I want
to set out to do I want to maximize the number of people that I can have help break into the industry who otherwise wouldn’t have connections that maybe don’t go to a Target uni that might not have the top grades because essentially that’s my background I didn’t have the top
grades I failed my first year of a levels I had to retake it I didn’t go to a Target uni I went to a decent uni didn’t go to the best uni in the world my game plan was Secure office in the back office and then focus on the front office somehow I got lucky I managed to get into the front
office in Asset Management at Goldman Sachs I realized you know what I’m more interested in helping people break into the industry rather than me sitting in the industry and in I didn’t think it was right for me also I prefer entrepreneurship create an economy I think
there’s a lot more it’s more interesting and exciting to me to be able to work on my own schedule do my own thing be more flexible rather than pursue a career to try and become a partner or a managing director in these firms although those are great opportunities I don’t think
it’s for me I do think I’m good at helping people break into the industry I’ve helped hundreds of people already break into the industry so if any of that sounds interesting this is my two cents on why I think YouTube is great but I think being part of a community like the one
I’m creating it’s going to be more impactful and Powerful for you so yeah if that’s interesting first link in the CashNews.co description check it out and I’ll see you in the next CashNews.co or hopefully inside the community open to lots of ideas if you want to do group
coaching calls if you want to practice your presentation skills sorry this like there’s no script to this CashNews.co I’m just get off the cuff often times you know what I’ve realized after speaking to hundreds of students and grads most people don’t get into the industry or
secure offers for interviews or spring weeks or internships because they don’t have anyone holding them accountable this is serious I’ve noticed this time and time again people aren’t held accountable so one thing I’m trying to figure out is how to have people in the
community accountable for their actions in order to do this do this do this do this and that will guarantee you an offer so something I’m thinking about is accountability Partners groups or teams that work together who are interested in specific divisions working together and so you’re
not just exposed to the people in your own uni or the society in your own uni you’re exposed to people from all over the world who are interested in the same things as you and you’re kind of pursuing this journey together that’s what I’m trying to build if you’re
interested in check it out and I will see you in the next one peace boom

Secure spring weeks, internships or full-time roles without needing prior finance experience, having perfect grades or attending a target school: https://www.skool.com/finance-fast-track-academy/about
Not worth it your skool course
I think you need to expand your audience a bit more beyond students. There are a lot of us who discovered finance late and missed the spring weeks, summer analyst roles, etc, which might not be too relevant to us
Thank you afzal , im from Morocco
Totally relate to you brother on your career decisions. I hope you create such content and keep spreading knowledgeable content
I graduated with a degree in finance may 2023. I struggled in college so my gpa wasn’t the best, only a 2.9, but I still graduated, and I know more about financial concepts than the average person. I didn’t get any internships either sadly. My resume is weak because I’ve only ever worked at part time non finance related jobs while I was a student. It has now been a year and a half and no jobs will hire me, not even internships. Not even a simple bank teller role. Right now I am in the midst of obtaining my SIE, and im doing very well on the Kaplan study provider. However, after speaking with people I know in the industry, the SIE, series 7 path is a more sales approach to finance, and truly I just want to go into a job, work under a salary 8-5, and go home. I’m much more interested in a financial analyst role, and long term becoming a portfolio manager, but with my grades, lack of experience, and current career path I’m on, I’m worried it’s too late for me. I want to attempt the CFA, but it’s expensive to attempt, and I can’t afford it, and it also takes years to obtain. I’m desperate for a job to kickstart my career and apply what I know. Do you have any recommendations. Anything at all would help and be much appreciated.
Hey afzal, I'm in dilemma actually what to do please can u suggest me of what to choose, since I'm in fy of bcom (3y course) I have missed the deadline of spring internship..what to do? Is it possible to do next year? Sadly I don't have proper skills developed yet nor projects…im not from top universities.. My college is affiliated to Mumbai university…so next year will be my penultimate year…i have only 6 months left for next June 2025…in that 6 month I don't think it's possible to get 4 internships, make projects, develop advance skills in fm and others….i want to summer internship since interested in ib….
Should I do summer internship in my last year, is it possible will they reject me or directly go for masters and than do summer internship?
Really looking forward to this
Thanks Afzal
Really appreciate your videos, you don't even understand.
Very good idea Afzal, I've been watching since 2019 but I can't find my way back to your old videos… Well done !
I graduated August 2nd this year with a BAA in Finance, was selected to be in the student managed endowment fund so I have experience with managing a real portfolio. Before I went back to school I did finance assistant and sales at a dealership for a year, was a realtor for 3 years and have my paralegal degree with internship at a law firm. Covid made me leave school the first time so all I listed above I did in the past 4 years since 2020.
So I'm not just a recent college graduate and I still cannot get a job to this day its application denied not even first round interviews for the most part. I'm well qualified for the job descriptions for some FP&A, positions at banks, controllers, schedulers, etc. plus I got a scholarship for my CFA level 1 I'm taking in May yet I don't even get an interview.
Hope this helps find a job for me and everyone else struggling right now!
