style="font-weight: bold; color: #1a73e8; text-decoration: none;">Finance and Financial Risk Management we are seeking to develop a new combination of skills that are fundamental for the financial Engineers of the future such skills include theoretical and applied

skills in computational Finance uh in trading and in modeling the behavior of financial none;">Markets the MC computational Finance is a blend of mathematics computer science text-decoration: none;">Finance and statistics where the latter includes computational statistics and machine learning so to summarize the MSE Financial Risk Management aims at providing students with a deep knowledge about how Financial systems work as well as

providing them with the technical skills meaning mathematical and computational uh skills that are needed to develop quantitative models to operate in financial Markets I think the university

is great because it’s uh quite Multicultural uh and it’s quite interdisciplinary so students have the opportunity not only to interact with their cohorts so students studying the same subject but also with other students coming from everywhere in the world and interested in many

different disciplines and I think this adds to the experience so your degree will come from a well-known institution and besides that we mentioned there are the links to the financial industry London which of course can be exploited much better if you are educated in London rather than some other

place in the world this master course is recommended to students with quantitative background so for instance students who studied mathematics physics Sciences computer science but it is also recommended for students who study the economics and

style="font-weight: bold; color: #1a73e8; text-decoration: none;">Finance or related subjects and want to pick up more quantitative skills and mathematical skills so my choice was driven mostly by the essentially good name that UCL has here I am having graduated some years ago and

still very you know thinking about my course with a very big smile on my face regarding the teaching so I think it was very nice to hear some of the insights from the lecturers that actually worked in the industry and to really get those little golden nuggets that you would normally Miss uh if you

don’t have like that good lecturers one of my highlights here at UCL was definitely recently the presentation of my thesis I worked with HSBC and so we were in the HSBC office in Canary Warf and it was just very interesting to meet all of the different people to meet the project supervisors

and to also get uh for example tour of the trading floor that was really nice to get to know all of the people and get those insights so I think with the msse that I completed here at UCL I really was able to um get a really good position straight out of uni um and essentially enter where that is

quite difficult to to enter otherwise regarding my career I would definitely say that the MSC in competation of Finance helped me a lot with my undergrad in economics it is always hard to

break into the more Quant industry and I feel like that really bridged the Gap and really helped me to go where I wanted to go and also now starting a job exactly in the industry that I wanted to work in so it really helped me a lot to get to where I wanted essentially um what you learn through the

master is very technical very specific but it gives you the ability to critically think about problems and apply kind of a a solution driven mindset to any type of job if you’re curious about how things work in real life and have a have a passion for numbers I think this master is perfect for

you to see um how Theory comes to life also through the summer placement which really brings everything essentially to life when it comes to dayto day um work in life after University
