Tesla to begin hiring in India, eyes low-cost EV entry after PM Modi’s US trip

Tesla Inc. has begun recruiting in India, indicating that the electric vehicle (EV) giant is gearing up for its long-anticipated entry into the market. The electric vehicle manufacturer has posted job openings for 13 roles, covering both customer-facing and operational positions, sources told CNBC-TV18.

Among the listed vacancies, at least five positions—including service technicians and advisory roles—are available in both Mumbai and Delhi. Other roles, such as customer engagement manager and delivery operations specialist, are specifically based in Mumbai.This move comes as Tesla is reportedly gearing up to begin retail sales in India this year. The company has been scouting for showroom locations in Delhi, Mumbai, and other major cities, sources told CNBC-TV18.


Max Healthcare share price: Analyst upgrades stock to buy, sees 18% upside

UBS has upgraded Max Healthcare to a ‘buy’ rating from ‘neutral’ and raised its target price to ₹1,200 per share, citing strong growth potential and efficient execution of expansion plans. The shares of the company gained 3%  early in the trade on Tuesday, February 18.

The brokerage firm believes the market is yet to fully appreciate Max Healthcare’s visibility on bed additions, which it sees as a key driver for the company’s valuation. UBS also highlighted the hospital chain’s ability to ramp up occupancy rates and achieve break-even efficiently.Max Healthcare’s asset-light model and strong operational cash flow (OCF) generation further bolster its investment case. UBS expects the company to generate ₹8,000 crore in OCF over FY25-28, which will help fund its capacity expansion.


Mexico says it will sue Google if it insists on using ‘Gulf of America’

Mexico will take Google to court if it insists on changing the Gulf of Mexico’s name to “Gulf of America” for Maps users in the United States, President Claudia Sheinbaum said Monday.

She said her government had written again to the US company arguing that President Donald Trump’s executive order on the subject only applies to the part of the continental shelf belonging to the United States. “Google has no right to rename Mexico’s continental shelf, nor does it have any right to rename Cuba’s continental shelf, because the Gulf of Mexico is divided among the three countries,” Sheinbaum said at her daily news conference.

Delta plane flips upon landing at Toronto Airport | Watch video

Seventeen people were injured after a Delta Airlines plane flipped upon arrival at Toronto’s Pearson Airport and ended up on its roof on Monday, February 18.

The airport confirmed on X that an “incident” occurred with the Delta flight from Minneapolis and that 76 passengers and four crew are accounted for. The accident happened around 2:15 pm and flights at the airport were grounded for around two and a half hours. Two runways will remain closed during the investigation.

Video from the scene shows the Mitsubishi CRJ-900LR upside down on the snowy tarmac as emergency workers hose it down. The plane was somewhat obscured by snow from a winter storm that hit Toronto over the weekend.


Egypt developing plan to rebuild Gaza, countering Trump’s call to depopulate territory

Egypt is developing a plan to rebuild Gaza without forcing Palestinians out of the strip in a counter to President Donald Trump’s proposal to depopulate the territory so the US can take it over.

Egypt’s state-run Al-Ahram newspaper said the proposal calls for establishing “secure areas” within Gaza where Palestinians can live initially while Egyptian and international construction firms remove and rehabilitate the strip’s infrastructure.Egyptian officials have been discussing the plan with European diplomats as well as with Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the UAE, according to two Egyptian officials and Arab and Western diplomats. They are also discussing ways to fund the reconstruction, including an international conference on Gaza reconstruction, said one of the Egyptian officials and an Arab diplomat.


India’s Got Latent: YouTubers fail to appear before NCW as commission reschedules hearings for March

The National Commission for Women (NCW) on Monday, February 17, issued a new hearing date following the non-appearance of ‘India’s Got Latent’ YouTubers in response to its summons over the derogatory and obscene remarks.

It previously summoned Ranveer Allahabadia, Samay Raina, Apoorva Mukhija, Jaspreet Singh, Ashish Chanchlani, Tushar Poojari, Saurabh Bothra and Balraj Ghai to appear on February 17 at noon.However, some individuals did not attend in person due to concerns about personal safety, prior travel commitments and other logistical issues, according to NCW.
