As a female business owner in a male-dominated industry, Nicole Middendorf has overcome a number of challenges, including being a victim of domestic violence, being a single mother, and going through a divorce that led to losing ownership in a financial services business.
But all of that, in one way or another, led Middendorf to start Minnetonka-based Prosperwell Financial, an independent financial services firm for individuals and businesses interested in investing and financial planning.
Prosperwell’s advisors provide personalized wealth management advice for financial retirement planning, college education savings, estate planning, asset management, insurance, divorce planning, and succession planning to name a few.
Middendorf said she works “every day to make change” for women, and fight “the sexism that continues to happen in our industry. The things that still happen to women shouldn’t. By nature, women are phenomenal listeners, and we need more in our industry.”
Middendorf has also found the time to author six books, travel the world, and become a philanthropist and public speaker to “inspire and motivate” audiences nationwide with her own foundation.
Among the honors she has received is the 100 Women to KNOW in America award, which recognizes women leaders nationwide.
