US banking industry attacks open banking rule, warns consumer trust ‘at risk’ #IndustryFinance

A final rule issued by the US Consumer Financial Protection Bureau this week to progress open banking is facing strong resistance from major banking associations, which warn it could undermine the safety of the US banking system and consumer trust in banks.

The CFPB said the final rule moves the US closer to a “competitive, safe, secure and reliable” open banking system.
