Home-hunters are changing their house hunting habits – including by looking at more outlandish properties, according to housing marketplace Zoopla’s 2024 trends.
Disney-mania and jaw-dropping prices
One of the more bizarre parts of Zoopla’s report was the most-viewed property of the year.
That was a Disney-themed property in the Welsh town of Rhyl that went viral in September, and by December had more than 200,000 pageviews.
The most expensive property sold this year went for £67.6m, Zoopla said.
The property, in Beverly Hills, boasts an infinity pool, 15 bathrooms and expansive views overlooking Los Angeles.
Back in the UK, however, the most expensive property was sold, surprise surprise, in London.
That house, on Grosvenor Crescent, was bought for a slightly more modest £65m.
The cheapest areas to buy
Zoopla also summed up the most expensive and cheapest local authorities to purchase a home in 2024…
Looking for a quick buy?
Zoopla also looked at the area where house sales were concluded the quickest across the UK…
The list looks a bit different when you just look at the data for England and Wales…
When to buy
January, February and March were the months when Zoopla had the most visitors to its site, but May was actually when the most properties were listed to be sold.
August was the busiest month of the year for completions, with 104,740 property transactions completed in the UK with a value of £40,000 or more.
