Virgin Media O2 is launching a £10 Railcard reward to help Britons travel to see loved ones more often for a cheaper fare.
New research by the mobile phone network provider showed 79 percent of Britons would travel more frequently if they could do it for less.
Despite nearly half (39 percent) of people polled travelling at least once a week by rail, 67 percent admitted to not owning a Railcard.
A Railcard can provide users with a third off most train ticket prices allowing cardholders to save an average of £156 annually. They usually cost £30 a year.
The new reward, available exclusively to Priority members, means that from Monday, October 21, until November 9, customers can purchase a Railcard for only £10.
Up to 1,000 Railcard discount codes will be released daily at 9am.
Lisa Johnstone, director of priority, loyalty and reward at Virgin Media O2, said: “Priority is focused on helping our Virgin Media O2 customers get the most out of life while saving money where it matters the most.
“That’s why we’re thrilled to offer our Priority members a Railcard for just £10, saving up to a third on train travel for the next 12 months.
“This exclusive reward will ease the cost of travel, giving our members access to meaningful experiences and the chance to share more special moments with loved ones.”
The £10 Railcard is available for the following six card types:
- Network Railcard
- 16-25 Railcard
- Disabled Persons Railcard
- Family and Friends Railcard
- Senior Railcard
- Two Together Railcard.
Discount codes to acquire a £10 Railcard will be released daily over the reward live period via the Priority app and website.
